IT Info

IT is an 1991 TV mini series adaptation of Stephen King’s IT amassed a cult following, and Tim Curry’s original performance as the town-terrorizing clown pennywise has set a high bar for anyone to following the role, So when director Andy Muschietti revealed his new version of the character, now played by by Bill Skarsgard, in  a costumer that could’ve easily been borrowed from a schoolgirl’s dress, it’s only natural that he faced a little blowback. It is intended to be the first installment in a planned duology, as well as being the second adaptation following Tommy Lee Wallace’s 1990 miniseries. The film tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by the eponymous being, only to face their own personal demons in the process.

The film has been described as a loss of innocence film, with fear, mortality and survivalist themes. Muschietti remarked of the film’s elements of coming of age and issues of mortality, wherein he states such themes are prevalent in King’s book, though that in reality these occur in a more progressive way,

“There’s a passage [in It] that reads, ‘Being a kid is learning how to live and being an adult is learning how to die. There’s a bit of a metaphor of that and it just happens in a very brutal way, of course.”

He also mentioned the characterization Pennywise’s survivalist attitude, and a passage in the novel, which inspired Muschietti was when Bill wonders if Pennywise is eating children simply because that’s what we’re told monsters do, in stating,

“It’s a tiny bit of information, but that sticks with you so much. Maybe it is real as long as children believe in it. And in a way, Pennywise’s character is motivated by survival. In order to be alive in the imagination of children, he has to keep killing.”

Release Date:

It is scheduled to be released in North America on September 8, 2017. On March 7, 2017, the title of the film was announced by Stephen King as Part 1 – The Losers’ Club or IT.

World War Z 2 is Delayed?

NErORtEmRAwQvz_1_b.jpg

The first World War Z turned out to be entertaining, as well as extremely commercially successful that brings us to the inevitable sequel, World War Z 2, it’s noted that Brad Pitt will return to play the starring role in the upcoming blockbuster. It hasn’t yet been confirmed what the new movie will be about – especially since the last narrative kind of wrapped everything up in a bow – but we can expect that director J.A. Bayona is planning to deliver some big time scares from the living dead/infected.

Beyond Brad Pitt’s involvement, there is another twist to this story, and it involves the movie’s set release date. Paramount Pictures has revealed that they plan to have the movie out on June 9, 2017. As there have been no true production updates in quite some time, and shooting would have had to have already started, it should come as no surprise that World War Z 2 has been yanked from Paramount’s impending release schedule. While a delay in the release date was expected, it now sounds like this movie might be dead altogether.

A box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah before her suicide details thirteen reasons why she ended her life.

The season ended with Clay giving Tony the confession tape to copy. Hannah visits Mr. Porter, and tells him about her rape. Hannah secretly records the conversation, hoping Porter will help her. When he doesn’t, she heads home and commits suicide by slashing her arms lengthwise while in a bathtub filled with water. The depositions continue, with all of those named confessing their faults except for Alex who attempts suicide and is in critical condition. Justin leaves his home and town out of guilt, but not before telling Bryce about the tapes. Jessica tells her father about her rape. Before his deposition, Tyler hides ammunition and guns in his room. At school, Clay reaches out to Skye, a classmate he previously noticed with scars on her wrists.

The series has received largely positive reviews from critics and audiences, who have praised its subject matter and casting, particularly the two leads, Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford. It has attracted controversy from some over the series’ graphic depiction of issues such as suicide and rape, along with other mature content. In May 2017, it was announced the series had been renewed for a second season, scheduled to premiere in 2018.
